Who We Are

CHIPS Communities United

CCU is a coalition organizing for an equitable and sustainable semiconductor manufacturing industry. Our alliance includes labor, environmental, social justice, civil rights, and community organizations representing millions of workers and community members nationwide.

Together we are fighting to ensure that public and private investments in chip making benefit workers and communities.

Our Vision

We believe semiconductor factories subsidized by our tax dollars should be models of high-road economic development. We work with local communities to help them:

  • Win well-paying union jobs for all workers in semiconductor factories
  • Protect the local environment
  • Keep workers, their families, and community members safe from toxic chemicals

Our Focus

Coalition Building

As a national convener, we bring together workers, community members, and experts to hold semiconductor companies accountable to workplace and environmental standards.

Organizing

We support local efforts with resources, tools, and trainings so concerned communities can advocate for their needs.

Resource Hub

We connect local communities with national experts and create resources to raise public awareness and support.
